Stage One guitar

One of my bucket list items was to get an E9 guitar and see what I can accomplish until they plant me. I ordered a Stage One from Doug Earnest and have been in possession of the guitar for about 5 weeks now. I've been beating it up virtually every night since I received it and still haven't had to do anything but tweak the string tunings every few days.

I have played tricked-out six string bender guitars for years and I have to say that the Stage One is way less of a tuning hassle than my 6 string bender guitars. Now that I have a rudimentary steel I have announced my training plan to be getting good enough to play Amazing Grace at my own funeral.

I am proud to say that I have advanced enough in the last month or so to be able to confidently play any etude or basic instruction piece perfectly off-key. But it's not the guitar's fault.

It's really a great steel isn't it? When I ordered my Encore I thought I would maybe sell the S1 but...no way. I now have two nice steels for the price of one. My S1 is my spare....It's my practice steel and it has a slightly different tone that is very nice.
