2014 Seminar At I.S.G.C. St. Louis, MO

Post by Mike Sweeney »

I'm pleased to announce that I will be conducting an E9th seminar again this year at the I.S.G.C. in St. Louis. We had a good turn out last year and would like to have a bigger one this year.
If you were at the seminar last year, you'll want to come back this year because everything will be totally new [ No Repeat stuff ].
The seminar will be geared more for the intermediate player but I think advanced and [ SOME ] beginners will get something out of it too.
You will need your guitar, seat, volume pedal, notebook, amplified headphones and a music stand [ Tab will be provided as well as pencils ]. Also if you can bring an audio recorder to have a reference when you get home. NO VIDEO RECORDING ALLOWED.
If you are planning on attending please let me know so I'll have a tab package for you. You don't need to pre pay just pay at the door. You can also include the seminar if you pre pay for your tickets in advance through Scotty's music.
The seminar will take place on Friday, August, 29th from 9:00 AM till 2:00 PM with a 30 minute break in the middle. There will be a Q & A segment at the end also. The cost of the seminar is $50.00. You will be able to pay with cash, credit/debit cards or check.
If you want to attend and have something specific you want to learn let me know, I'll TRY to get it covered.
Once again, Please let me know you plan to attend so I can have enough material for everybody.
Thanks and I hope y'all help me fill the classroom up at the new venue.

Mike, if I was a steel player, you'd be one of the guys I'd want to learn from.

Already starting to write tab for the seminar books and plan to have an audio cd with me playing all the tabbed material. I feel that everyone will get something out of this and have fun with a few new ideas.

Just a teaser about a topic that we'll be covering is a different way to look at single note lines over chord changes. I think this will give your outlook a whole new perspective. There will be other topics as well and I will answer as many questions that time allows during the Q&A portion.
If you haven't made plans to attend do so and let me know you are coming.

I love the solo in So Many Times - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeT6qtBX2Oc

Another great song with a lot more pedal steel on it from the same album is Roll Old Jeremiah - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNsFBa6vQ98

Covering any of that would be fantastic.

Mike, I don't know if you remember the name or not but after the show last year I came down and spent a day with you at your place for a private workshop. I had a great time and learned a lot.

See you soon.
