What a nice and carring man. He stopped what he was working on, I think it was his own guitar, and put together my wish list. After 2 hours of pure magic in his shop I walked away with so much more then my original list.
Then the airlines had the gall to lose it all. No worries I got it back a day later. The tracking systems do work. I can't thank you enough Duane and I will point all who ask me guitar mechanic questions to you. Your the best,

Duanne Marrs is one of Nashville's secret weapons for Sho-Bud customizing and general mechanical upgrades and repair. Jeff Surratt
(who works with Duanne) is also great steel guitar mechanic. If anyone wants to put their Sho-Bud in better than new condition (I will be posting pictures in November) call Duanne at 615-868-5344.

Duanne was instrumental in the building of my Super Pro back in '79. He and Paul Franklin Sr. worked all the bugs out of it before he sent it to me. It has been a great guitar. Aside from some of the die cast parts breaking, I've had no problems with it.
Duanne IS a super person. If you read this Duanne, thanks for a super guitar.

All the above accolades for Duane Marrs are absolutely true,but don't forget that he is also an excellent steel guitarist! That's why he does such a great job of working on steels;he understands them as only a steel player can!

For those of you who don't know,Duane was the one who "invented" the "pak-a-seat" way back when. Unfortunately,(for Duane) for whatever reason,he didn't copyright his idea,& lost out on a bunch of "royalties". I'm proud to say that,I was the <u>very first</u> steeler IN THE WORLD,to own one of his seats.(my only "claim to fame" in this business),& I still have <u>that</u> seat. (not for sale) If they ever start a "Steel Guitar Museum",I may donate it to them.

I agree and I did not mean to leave Jeff out. He was also very helpful in getting all the parts I needed, wanted. Will see about the needed when I start putting that guitar together.

Hey I know that name "Tommy Shane Steiner"......I used to teach that boy Gymnastics(when he was 7 or ; but his name was Shane(and mine was Rick Bledsoe or coach Rick) and his brother Sid.......from the great Texas Rodeo family ran by Bobby and Tommy Steiner.
So Shane sings now??? Well how cool is that...I'm sure Sid is probably in the Rodeo riding something .....them was some Tuff kids when I knew'um. Good for Shane; I'm proud of him.

One other thing about Duane, he is a great steel player as well.
I had the pleasure of working with Duane at Music City Mfg from 73-76.
Taught him everything he knows.
Just kidding Duane, you taught me alot.
I am proud to have you as a friend and have always enjoyed hearing you play.
Will be up soon to hear you pick at the American legion.

I must add to all the wonderful things we have to say about Duane, He built my very first custom Marrs steel Serial # 27 That I have owned for over 20 years.This guitar is a true work of art. It is built on a maple body with rosewood Veneer front, true mother of pearl(abalone) inlay trim, black formica top,aluminum necks.Every detail has been meticulously added to the front of the guitar, the Marrs logo is inlayed abalone, and on the right front Psalms 33-1-3(abalone). Can you post a pic of that verse Psalms 33-1,2,3? It has become a standard of thinking for me now... and you were the guy that pointed it out to me... on your pretty new custom Marrs... 20 years ago... (when I was showing off my blue Zum ) And now you have one of those too! When you getting your new _______ ?
