There was somebody on the forum about a year or two back advertising custom gauged rollers made specifically for your string gauges. I think they were asking $60 for a set which I would pay because I like the sound down on the first fret but not the extra pressure it takes to do it.

Ed Fulawka makes them for his guitars. Maybe he'll make you some for your Sierra.

Justin began working on mine in January 2001, and last I heard he is still working on them.

That's what I feared.Did anyone get theirs?

I need 2 widths-very narrow for my Pro II,and a wider type for an S12 that I built.So I would be very interested in a source.Is any one using an .079 for the low C? According to the chart that Ernie shows for B.E's C6,it lists an .079cw for that str.I e-mailed Ernie about it but did'nt get a reply.I would like to know where to get it and where you would find a roller to fit it.Rusty.

I have and old set of 10 rollers in factory
mint which are guaged. They came off an
old Emmons, a push pull no doubt. They are
about 1/16" width and may have been intended for the C6th neck altho on inspection I bet they would work well on E9th. I also have the support shaft for them.
They have been with me a long time. If anyone out there is interested in them you can email me.

Roy I E-mailed you about the roller nuts.However if they are gauged and came off of a PP they would have to be for C6th and would not be suited for E9.It's been a long time but it seems to me that only the bottom 3 strings where gauged for C6th on a PP.Emmons started using gauged roller nuts around 89 for the E9??<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Bobby Boggs on 29 October 2002 at 06:48 AM.]</p></FONT>

Come to think of it.I'm not sure any of the early PP's had gauged rollers on either neck. .Help me out PP owners.

I am donating them to Bobbe Seymore. He will know what they are for and will no doubt find
a home for them.
You are correct Bobby Boggs, on inspection I note that it is the last 4 that are guaged.

What I recall on my push-pull was that there are two different rollers -- one looks right (more or less) for wound strings and the other for unwound ones. Do I recall correctly? Anybody know?

I have a machinist do mine on each guitar I buy. I find it particularly important for a 12-string, with gauges ranging from 011-074 or so. It is a pain to get it right and always includes several iterations before the buzz goes away, BUT IT'S WORTH IT.
