I'll never forget the first brochure I saw from Sho-Bud in the early 60s. It had a curving row of guitars starting from the top right to the lower center. I was struck by the fact that there were so many guitars. I didn't think there were that many in the world at that time. And yes, they do make some very pretty pictures !!

WOW! this is so cool. i like the red ones.
thanks for the pics. my friend had a red one and sold it to a guy in texas. this guy said he was gonna take it to europe and sell it. i would love to find it. it was a super pro II i think. it had red embossed number decals on each leg. i dont know why? it was sold with a vegas 400 that was mounted on wheels. if anyone has some info, please let me know.

I like to think that Sho-Bud set the reference in what a Pedal Steel should look like. You know what they say, "You can't beat a good piece of wood". It's entirely possible that many of us would also say that Sho-Bud set the reference in tone as well, but that may be subjective to personal taste and I doubt that there is a 'Steeler" on the planet who doesn't think that "E's" tone is
the reference in-itself. I like to equate the old Sho-Buds to old Fender guitars, you may not play them much but you can sure spend a lot of time just looking at them and
let your mind wander about it's history.
Here's my Professional with 1-A-3 engraved in the left end body plate.

With your guitar setup so high, how do you keep the legs from collapsing and the pedal bar from sliding up when you hit a pedal?

Here's a couple, the Professional was a 'basket case' I got from a pawn shop in Vegas and the Super Pro I bought new in '79, both have had a lot of mods and both have a lot of mileage on them.

Rick, it's an 11 string neck, there's a 1/16 dowel pin back up at the tuning head with an extension on the nut. The tuning is: C E G A C E G A C E G and the low C doesn't change and is used mostly for 'power chords', the E and G get the D, Eb, F and F# changes. The Danny sheilds pickup is and 11-string, the Lawrence 705 is a 10, ite missa est. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:<HR>Wanna rebuild my Proffesional?
