Does anyone have a wiring diagram for an Emmons GS-10?

Edit: Its got one single coil, a volume pot, tone pot and a capacitor.
Right now, I'm not sure what is happening, but neither of the knobs is working. No tone adjustment or volume.

Were the pots working previously? It's not uncommon to bypass the pots on the GS-10, and wire the pickup straight to the output jack. That's the way mine was when I got it. Sounds awesome that way. Playing through a volume pedal renders the volume control redundant in any case.

I have only owned it for about 6 months, and they were never working.
They must have been bypassed.

Both pots have wires connected to them, so I assumed they were just wired incorrectly.

When they are bypassed, are the pots still connected to the pickups & output jack?

Brian, I can offer a somewhat long-winded and uneducated explanation to your query. The wiring can indeed appear to be intact, and somehow be bypassed. That's how it appears on mine.

Here is a photo of the pots and associated wiring on my GS-10:

I can't get a decent picture of the wiring on the output jack without removing the knee lever, or of the pickup wiring without removing the top cover plate.

The shielded wire at the top right connects with the jack. The shielded wire at about the 2:00 position of the pot on the right heads up to the top beneath the coverplate. I would assume it connects to the pickup.

On the surface, everything appears to be wired up. The pots have somehow been bypassed however, because they do absolutely nothing.

There are many on the Forum who are much more knowledgeable than myself on guitar electronics, and can offer a more comprehensive explanation. Perhaps they will chime in on this subject.

I saw this earlier on but Dont know about gs-10 I hope it helps a little.

Jack - That seems to be the way mine is wired up. I noticed a little jumper cable connecting the two pots together, which I think is the culprit. Either way, I think I am going to leave it alone, since the consensus seems to be that it sounds better when bypassed.

Craig - Thanks for the reply, but the single coil in that picture has only one pot. The GS-10 has two.

Hi - I'm a lurker here, but in the photo, the pickup is hooked up directly to the jack and the pots aren't in the circuit at all. The white wire from the pickup has been soldered directly to the white wire that goes to the jack tip. This is the signal wire. This is why the pots have no effect.

It's also certainly not the original wiring, with or without the pots.
