A Couple of old pictures

Post by Graham »

Came across these old pictures and thought some might like to see them. They were taken at the Civic Auditorium in Oshawa, Ontario, a building I worked in for 20 years.

Hank was taken in 1967 and Buck in 1969. Don't know who the steel player is in the Hank photo but it is J.D. Maness with Buck.

Notice ALL the on stage equipment these fellas used, compared to today's shows!!

Very nice, thanks! I wonder how it worked without the stage monitors.

Pretty awesome. Sure says a lot about all the crap we carry around nowdays.....Jay Dee is running a set of cords, a pedal, and a guitar. Pretty straightforward.

I believe that's Jimmie Crawford playing steel in the Hank Snow picture.

Those twin reverbs perched on folding chairs look kind of scary....

I know Jimmy Crawford played for Hank, and at the time Jim Kandy. or Candy I'm not sure was playing bass...They came into a club I was playing at in Omaha...We decided to jam after, and got Jimmy's Sho Bud off the bus and had a great time...Boy could he pick...I don't think Hank was too happy about it though...Sure made my night !!

that is just wild to see how little equipment they used (+ unmiked amps) to play a large civic auditorium. no monitors so that means the stage volume had to be reasonable.
