Question on chord

Post by Matt Martin »

Just messing around, when strings 6-5-2-1
are played, what chord is this in open position E. Sounds really killer!

Its a G#m7 or B6 or nonroot Emaj7+9(?) It depends on how you use it.

Like Don said, it's a viable minor7 chord. You might consider lowering the 4th string from E to Eb, and playing strings 1,4,5,6 (instead of 2). The reason for this is if you use string 4 a lot in your playing (most do) and don't use string 2 nearly as much (most don't), then it will probaly be easier to access in a chord run.
