Milkman Amps!

I visited Bob Hofner yesterday in Austin and got to try out my new Rittenberry Prestige through 2 of his Milkman amps. One was the 85W pedal steel amp and the other was the 40W mini. They both sounded killer! The EQ stack is perfectly voiced for steel guitar, just like they were designed to be. With the simplicity of bass, mid and treble, it's really easy to dial in your tone. Also, the tube driver reverb sounds incredible. Hat's off to Tim Marcus for creating one great sounding amp, and a really nice guy toboot.

Hear, hear, Wayne!!
At thr most recent KC steel jam, I got to play Colm's Milkman 85.
Similar to my steel-tweaked RI Twin, but subtly and markedly (a paradox, not an oxymoron) fatter and sweeter.
I used to want to try one: now I want to own one.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad word is spreading about my steel amps - and that folks are finally getting a chance to try them first hand.

Wayne,
What speakers were in the mini?
What speakers were in the 85?

The Mini has a JBL D131 12"
The 85 is an amp head plugged into a THD 2/12 cab with 2 Eminence neo speakers made to T.C. Furlong specs.

I have also heard Colm's amp here in K.C. The sound and tone was inspiring.

I expect we will get a lot more once Wayne takes delivery of his own Milkman later this summer

That's right Tim...So looking forward to the 85W head! I'll be running it through a Mather's 2x12 cabinet with Eminence Deltalite II 2512 neo speakers. It's gonna be awesome!

Thank-you Wayne... wow, played so very nice! Your playing is inspiring man.

(When I originally listened to it, I did so at a very low level volume). My mistake.
You all really have to take another listen to this youtube ... at a LOUD Volume to fully appreciate the amps Tone. IMHO. Of course the playing is amazing.

Could this be the new Steel Tone Paradigm ?

A closed-back cab sound(which tends to emphasize the upper-bass region tones(100-200 hertz). I can imagine what it would sound like in an open-back cab ...for those folks that like the open-back sound also?

Wayne, at about 3:22 in the your studio Demo Youtube,
can you tell us what your copedent for your left knee>right LKR is ?

Thanks
~Kerry
