I attended Jeff Newmans advanced class in about June or July 1982, and have forgotten most of the names of the guys who were there with me .. how many are still playing ??
Can anyone help me with the missing names of the group below ....??
To the left of Jeff is Mike Daily (George Strait band), and to the right in the brown shirt is Henning Koch from Denmark, 2nd row far right kneeling in blue shirt is Me (Paddy Long from NZ).... so lets have some clues lads - Pete Burak I know you were there ...?
Me and Buddy Emmons
The master -- had us all spellbound of course !!

Hi Paddy, That is me right next to you holding up my Jeffran College "Diploma"!
That is a great pic of Buddy smiling. I still have those cassettes around here somewhere.
I remember Buddy was using a Session 400 that you bought at a shop in Nashville that week.
Are you still with the nice Girl you were traveling with at that time?
I wish I could remember the name of the girl to my right, who also took the class that week... I wonder if she is still playing?
Thanks for the memories!
Hey there Pete!

Ray, you don't need hair color when you're twelve, which Pete looks in that picture!

Hey Pete ... I couldn't remember which one was you ... that nice girl I was with was my wife :-} !!
Yep I bought that Session 400 at Gruhns guitar shop ... the only amp in the place hehe. I got Jeff and Buddy to sign those strips down the side of it.
Ray - Pete and I were both 12 at the time mate
Erv - it depends which way your looking
Yes Mike is in the Nike shirt -- He already had that job with George's band ... in fact it was the band that hired George at an audition for a new singer !!

Looks like it might be Steve Palousek in the back row, middle with the blue shirt. Looks a lot like the photo he has on his website from the same year, with Buddy wearing the same brown tank-top.
Steve, je to, že?

I was too Frank, but not sure exact date. It was a E9 course, and I remember Paul Franklin Senior coming by to help with guitars.
Looks like the guy on top left has horns.

I thought that was Pete next to Paddy but not sure. I have only seen him twice. Once in Phoenix and once in Dallas I think. Glad he confirmed. Good Picture. Paddy I see you in Dallas each year but never seem to get the chance to chat with you.

Hey Steve, please excuse my ignorance of our connection, I was standing there in the Telonics room while you were dialing in the combo amp before you played your set on the main stage .. I'm sorry I didn't say hello but I got called away...
Next time I will make a point of having a chat :-} ....great playing by the way .. I think I have a pic of you sitting at your Blue Ritt so I will post it up.

Every once in a while, i'll watch Steve P.'s rendition of "I love you so much it Hurts", and my brain will bend around itself for a spell, and that'll put me on the steel for a couple hours.
These pictures are great. What a crew!

Hey Steve, Do you remember who the Girl in the class was?
I recall the guy standing to your left said he had gone to a Steel convention the previous year, but don't recall his name.
Wow you really became a rippin' Steel soloist. Nice!

Pete, I don't recall the name of the girl, but the guy behind her in the blue and brown print shirt is Tim Lusby. I don't recognize anyone else right off the bat. It was a long time ago.
