Old ShoBud leg studs are loose. How are they mounted into the legs? Can they be tightened?
Thanks

Remove and reknurl the plugs, drive them back in with "red,271 loc-tight" on them and they will stay forever, or untill they loosten up again, which ever comes first.

Pull the plugs out, smear them down with some epoxy resin you just mixed up, and then shove them back in place. Let the resin set up and you're ready to go.
Works for me!

Dennis, you have already been given good advise. Here would be my step by step instructions. Unscrew the clutch collar so you can remove the inside leg from the large top part. Take a large dowel, metal rod or a pipe that is longer than the large leg tubing. Place this pipe or whatever you are using into the leg and while holding the leg either strike the pipe with a hammer or bang it against a concrete drive or floor to drive the plug out. Open vise jaws about 3/4" wide and lay the knurled part of the plug on the vise opening. Take a chisel and hammer and beat a series of angled lines or "X"s all around the knurled part of the plug. Use washers, spacers and a correctly fitting nut on the threads making sure the nut is fairly tight and extends above the threads of the plug. This nut will protect the threads on the leg plug. Place the plug into the leg and drive it in with a hammer or use the banging against the concrete floor method. The chiseling around the plug serves as new larger knurls and will hold it tight.
