Hey Friends,

Don't miss this one. I play quite a few steel guitar shows every year and this is truly one of my favorites. Joe always has every detail worked out and everything runs smooth as can be. I've been honored to be part of the staff band for several years now,and as soon as each year's show is over, I start looking forward to the next year. Make plans now to be in Opp, Alabama the first weekend of May this year and just go ahead and put it down for next year too.

See ya there,
Jim

Hey Joe,

Bus will be pulling out of Nashville around midnight Thur. We want to make sure to get there in plenty of time to set up,check in,and most important, eliminate any possibility of missing the catfish at David's.

Folks, if you don't have anything special planned for the first weekend in May, come join us for a fun day. If you do have something planned, cancel it and join us anyway.

See ya there,
Jim

I Worked on a lot of shows with Lew Childre in the 40s and 50s.He was a creat showman. What a dancer He had more moves than a hoochy coochy dancer. He could sing ala bama bound better than anyone, He was good friend and I am proud to be a part of this show in his memory Billy Robinson

I have been to The Lew Childre Memorial Show at Opp for the past three years. Opp might be a little "off the beaten path", but it is well worth the trip. Joe Moulton puts together a terrific show. BTW, Lynn Owsley was at the Jacksonville anniversary show a couple of weeks ago, and the audience was thoroughly entertained. This year, a total of THREE hall of fame players (Joe Wright, Billy Robinson and Lynn) plus the legendary Stonewall Jackson are on the Opp show!

The venue is a beautiful (and well-air conditioned!) auditorium - and I expect it will be full to capacity for this great show. I regret that I will not be able to be there this year, as not only is the music super, but it is always a pleasure to see old friends again and meet new ones. Have a great show, y'all! :D :D
