I just found this recorded live on a casset tape and put on CD.
Boy did it bring back memories when you could get a house band gig that lasted for years
Bo Legg pickin' Back in the 80s when he first started playing Pedal Steel guitar, pickin' 5 nites a week for several years at the Blue Water Lounge at Elephant Butte Lake New Mexico. I was there most every nite, I loved them older girls you know in their late 20s and a few who were a little into their 30s.
Bo would Fish and ski most of the day, pick half the night and party the rest of the nite. He said he’d sleep when he got old.
It was $300 a week not bad for back then for a steady pickin’ job.
they didn't sound too shabby.

Much too Young

You're too kind Ray.
That's been a lot of years and all I can remember is his first name was Shane.
I was fortunate to get to play with good vocalists for about 20 years in a row and made a living picking all those years because of them.
I learned very early it's not how you pick as a side man it's who you pick with.
I played with Terry Bullard for a lot of years. He had a song that I think went to #24 on the charts but on the back side of that he had a tune called "Amarillo by Morning". while we were on tour we would hear them announce George Strait and they would be playing the back side of Terry's.

That had to be late 80's ! It's been a long time since I heard the hand that rocks the cradle. That was probably Glenn Campbell's last charting hit. Good times and tunes,as well as great vocal and steel. No country singer will let the steel be that far out front these days ! God forbid they'd have to share the spotlight Laughing !

Dustin it's a different world today. I've seen shows recently that the Artist did not even introduce his band. Big name Artist ,well Big names quickly forgotten. Sad

And THAT,folks,is the quality you get when the only work you do is with a hot band in front of a full house, night after night after night! Thanks,Stuart-and Bo! Very Happy

Bo's Steel was an old SD10 BMI played through a GK 250 ML and from it's direct out to the board (the amp was put on a stand and used like a monitor (Just Steel, GK amp, a volume pedal and some cables nothing else). OK OK you need a bar and some picks

The secret to making this work was that the bass player and the guitar player each had their own little 250 ML
amps with a direct out to the board.

Very smooth sound with no ones amp getting in some ones ear on stage. Bo was never unhappy with the mix.

The clips posted here were transferred to CD from a plain old mono cassette recorder on a table in front of the stage.

The little amps could get loud clean and/or nasty as well as clean with built in phase and/or echo and volume was never a problem.

I'll spare you and skip to the last part of of this song just to give you an Idea that the little amps could get nasty.
