Does any one have a break down on the different brand of steels that was played
at the Conv. this year?
Thanks
[This message was edited by autry andress on 02 September 2002 at 06:29 AM.]

Zum was probably the most dominant...a bunch of Emmons, a couple of Sho-Buds, ( Smiley and Loyd ) a few Carters and a few others, a real good mix.

Sounds right Earnest.

Add
Johnny Farina Fender Steel and Amp.
No Pedals, no volume pedal.

Al Brisco used his Evans amp.
[This message was edited by Joey Ace on 02 September 2002 at 02:55 PM.]

......and sounded damn good too! Image

Make that count 3 Emmons and 2 Fessy's as Jim Cohen played his also.

I didn't make a mistake, it was the alcohol poisoning I was suffering from!

I Believe Pee Wee was playing a Dekley; Bob Blair and I had a chance to meet him on Thursday night (hanging out at the "Texas Table" in the lounge with Herb Steiner, Bobby Bowman, Peggy Poovey and some other fine folks) and hear him share some great stories - what a real nice guy and congrats on his induction to the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame! I wonder why Brumley didn't play his Anapeg? Just curious.

Pee Wee plays a Pedal-Master unless he has changed in the last few months.

Pee Wee did play a Pedal-Master. The logo is shaped almost exactly like Dekley's was, and it even had me looking twice! Image

Tom Brumley was playing a brand new Mullen. Del was late getting to the convention so he could finish Tom's new guitar. Tom played it on his portion with little or no time to get used to the guitar. WOW what a player.

So..was there a push-pull Emmons on the stage? (I only saw 97% of the convention.)

Bobby, I think Sasser played a 60's model PP, but I was off at the bar trying to calm my nerves pharmaceutically. Image
