What's Your Favorite Steel Guitar Solo?
My favorite steel solo has always been Lloyd Green's on Johnny Paycheck's "Apartment #9." I love the tone and execution.
What's yours?

This one, from approximately 1:10 to 1:25:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sZRWlPV1ns
15 seconds of full-on bliss played with reckless abandon and the confidence (and chops) to pull it off.
The great Buddy Emmons, of course.

For me, the two most influential solos, when I was first getting into steel were:
Kind Woman (Rusty Young): starts at 2:20 but all the fills from the beginning are great
Rainbows All Over Your Blues (Buddy Emmons): http://youtu.be/bfk3wBeeaLY Starts at 1:14 but, again, all the fills are just great.

Aside from 'Lost in the Feeling' and 'Together Again', here's two of my favorites:
Steve Palousek - An Empty Glass: http://youtu.be/Qt76ZkLHtfI?t=2m27s & http://youtu.be/Qt76ZkLHtfI?t=4m36s
Eric Heywood - Tear Stained Eyes: http://youtu.be/SIHtFySoo6U?t=2m23s & http://youtu.be/SIHtFySoo6U?t=3m53s

Here's my top 3. narrowing it down further is impossible.
Together Again
Lloyd Maines on James Hand's "Leave the Lonely Alone" (which I couldn't find a link to on the internet)
Jeremy Wakefield on Wayne Hancock's "Goin Back to Texas" (probably the reason I took up steel in the first place)
http://youtu.be/nUxv9X-wrew?t=1m15s
great thread Kyle! There's so much good steel playing here to enjoy!

John Hughey's > 'Look At Us' and have always loved Dan Dugmore's 'Blue Bayou'
Also, all the solos Tom Brumley done with Rick Nelson.
Love that west coast stuff.
