RISGAs meeting was today and what a great time !! 8 steelers PLUS 2 guitars and a bass and several singers !! Several new members signed on and we had some great chow !! BUT the main show was 4 hours of steel guitar non-stop !! Mannys "MANNYHARP" with 33 or 34 strings stole the show but all players really played their hearts out !! What a happy time for all !! And more to come with plans for our Fall show in Sept. I can't wait !! olde geeze - AKA Eddie "C"

Let`s see now. First timers were Leif Lomeland, Dean Sampson, Gene Hathaway, Jim Davis, John Silvia and Kathy Silvia. If you add Chuck Rodrigues, Josephine Vierra, and Boh Cabral, You can thank the Portsmouth, RI Senior Center. Because, all but two are from the Senior Center. It makes more sense to combine organizations than to be seperate. Roger Trahan did an excellant job coordinating and running his drum machine, but I got too hungry eating lunch at 3pm. Eddie, Kathy Silvia was about to ask you about your homemade 2x4 plank frying pan lap steel that you play the heck out of, but you had already packed it up. All in all, RISGA`s March 16, 2014 quarterly meeting will be remembered for a long time.

Russsel Carter is also a Senior Center picker.

I just read my previous post/posts. The words "from the Senior Center" might imply that the musicians who came to the RISGA meeting live there. Every Wednesday as many as 18 musicians, (young and old like me), drive to the center to jam and have fun. It is called "Country Jammin`", and it was iniated by Josephine Vierra. Hope this clears things up.

Watch out Manny they might keep you there and think you are one of them HA.Pretty good a Senior Citizen entertaining other Senior Citizens. I have done that also as now it is time for Senior Citizens to entertain us.
