I ordered a new CARTER via the internet last night. It is the double 10 planked maple shown on the ready to ship in stock page. I hope everything went through ok. Could any one tell me is the BCT standard on all new CARTERS or is it an option that has to be requested separately?

I have a planked maple D10 Carter just like the one you bought. Bought mine in 2000 and have been totally satisfied. Its pretty hard to beat the playability and sound of a Carter and the service, if you should ever need it, is top of the line. What kind of pickups did you get?

Mike, below is the Carter pickup deal----

However for the already assembled, ready to ship guitars, I don't know their policy. As cool as the online thing is, I strongly recommend that you call Ann Fabian tomorrow so that you can dot your I's and cross your T's. It'll give you the peace of mind of knowing that you are getting exactly what you want. They will want nothing less.
Then, camp out at your doorstep and hassle the UPS guy until the guitar comes.

Jon, I too would urge you to call over to Ann and John. I would speak with John about the setup and other technical things as he may offer a recommendation which he can do now before it is shipped. Perhaps there are a few changes you would like added to the guitar . You will find John to be a wealth of information and a fine resource.

Congrats

I don't know what the terms of your shipping are.

You might want to ship it marked "hold for pick up" if the UPS place is close to you. That way, you can go down to pick it up and check the item for any shipping damage right on the spot.

It is highly unlikely that there'll be any, though. If the cardboard box doesn't have any big dents in it when you pick it up, then it's almost guaranteed that the next thing you'll be doing is setting it up and playing it at home.

Have fun.

Mike,

Ann's trying to reach you regarding the new guitar. She thought you were me and there was a VM waiting for me when I got in this morning. I called her back to let her know she had us mixed up. Give her a call, cuz!

Just my luck I,ve waited 20 years to get a sorely needed new guitar and they give it to the wrong person. I got a verification sheet stating that my order was accepted. My phone no. & e mail are both on it. I dont know whats up.

Thank you all so much for your help as well as your concern.
Special thanks to that super kool Michael Holland. Its nice to know if something ever happens to me, I'll have a backup on the forum.

Hey, Mike. I've had my Carter for about 2 months. I think Tommy White summed it up when he told me he had not been this excited about playing in 20 years. I know he loves his Carter. And I think you made a great choice. Ann was great to talk to and John and Bud made sure my guitar was perfect before I walked out with it. Welcome to the family. Corky.

Congratulations Mike. I love my Carter D10. I've had it 11 months now and I like it more every day. Mine is in Rosewood. You won't have to wonder what day it will be delivered. Ann told me what day it would be here and it was on time. Good luck and enjoy. Image
