I so dug Sneakey Pete's accompanyment on this tune. I think it's quite sparsely produced piano, drums, bass steel, and maybe acoustic guitar. Pete's steel fills it up though.

That's always been one of my favorite steel recordings. I'll be doing a GP tribute show with Laughing Gravy next month. Thanks for reminding me.

Really enjoyed "My Uncle" and great Pedal Steel, but looking at the pictures I guess it wasn't bOb.
Here's a band with my mediocre playing on "A Song For You" recorded about six years ago, I hope I can do better than that in April.

That was Dave Zirbel. I left the band for a while and Dave took my place. He's the best player in the county.
Your playing is fine on that that YouTube clip, Joachim. It fits the spirit of the song perfectly. Those singers are lucky to have found you.

Came across a Frank Zappa song with Sneaky Pete.
My advice is to only listen to Pete's solo which runs from 1min-46sec to 3min-19sec (the rest of the song... you really have to be a Zappa fan).

Humor in original video post of this thread. The lip sync video has bass player Chris Ethridge playing drums and drummer Michael Clarke playing bass.
