First off you need to be able to change your analog steel signal to a digital format so a hex pickup for the steel is the first step. Then you need to convert that signal via an analog/digital converter to midi (Roland,IVL) then you need to get it into the computer via a midi interface (Roland UM-1. etc)- all in all- not an uncomplicated process but it is achievable~~

Lawrence, i have a line six guitar port & it is one heck of a tool, not sure if it'll do what you want but they're a handy thing to have, i also have a midiman midisport usb that i use to connect midi controllers/sound modules to my pc & this is very easy to use- Regards- Colin
