There's a Norwegian guitarist named Eivind Aarset who has really caught my ear lately, and in this version of his Sonic Codex Orchestra BjÃ¸rn Charles Dreyer is playing steel.

Yes, I know Bjorn. He was visiting from Norway and doing some steel gtr. studying here in the States a few years ago and we briefly got to know one another. He shared some of his music with me, and I'm in full agreement, he's doing some very cool stuff. He's a terrific six string player and added the pedal steel in a way that expands the ambience of the musical soundscapes that he and various collaborators create. I think that there are some YouTubes of his work out there too. If I can find some links, I'll post them.
