Carter D-10 Custom PRICE REDUCED Sold pending payment

Post by James Leaman »

I have for sale a Carter D-10 form Carter's custom shop. I purchased in 2009 and it was a floor model in their showroom. From the serial number I see it was built in 2007.

The guitar is 8 pedals and 5 knees with standard Emmons copedant. It is a lacquer body guitar in fire engine red. It has polish package, premium edge necks and alumitome pickups.

The steel is a house queen in that it has never left my house since I got it. Likewise with the case...it has never been used since the guitar was shipped to me. The guitar has very little playing time on it as I use my other Carter for all gigs and 95% of practice time. It plays and sounds wonderful.

It has remained in showroom condition because I take very meticulous care of my instruments. However, there is a cosmetic defect beyond my control....there are 2 cracks in the body. One at the C6 changer and one at the C6 keyehead. The don't affect the structure or sound or playability at all, but I want to make certain to disclose them. They are evident on the photos. Many wood body steels like Sho-Bud's show similar cracks, so this was out of my control. The one at the changer was there when I received the guitar and the other one showed up this winter.

I WAS asking $2295 obo for the guitar, but I have reduced it to $1995. I believe this represents a decent discount for the cosmetic blemishes. Buyer pays shipping. Please send email or pm for further information or questions.

Guys, this is getting down to S10 range. This deal is becoming phenomenal.

You guys are right...it is a looker. Plays and sounds awesome.

Like Tommy White says: Carters are pound for pound one of the best steels ever made.

Beautiful axe! I have a Carter D-10 with a similar problem on the C6 deck. It sure wouldn't stop me from buying another Carter.
One Carter D-10 8+5, one Hilton VP, Peavey Bandit, so far, so good.

Guys and gals, this price is getting perilously close to S-10 asking prices. Now asking $1995.

Crack in the wood, or crack in the finish?

Jonathan, it looks like the crack is completely interupted by the C6 changer, so it can't travel, or worsen. Just my 2 cents. I wouldn't hesitate, if I was in need of another fine Carter.
