Might I suggest.................
make it a requirement of your rehab.......
Keep a bar in your hand at all times, somewhat like that old movie where the Captain of a navy ship went over the edge and carried a couple of ball bearings around in his pocket where he constantly rattled them around.
Don't be too quick to give up. If you really love it, start today with this exercise.
Best wishes to you for a rapid improvement.

Hello Vincent I know what you are experiencing, the same thing happened to me several years ago. I lost all sides strength in my fingers and could not hold the bar. I could still squeeze a fist as good as I used to but didn't have any strength sideways with my fingers. I put rubber bands around my finger and exercise them sideways, it took a little while before I got the strength back to where I can hold the bar. A friend made a bar with groves on both sides and the top which made it a lot easier to hold the bar. I think you can even buy them now.

Patience and recovery
Be patient, Vincent. The brain has to re-learn how to move those muscls again. It may take some therapy, but in a few months you will look back and see how far you have come. Todays' theraapies are very thorough.

Hey Vincent, I had one of those also. My left side was gone from the head to the feet. Keep listening to your rehab people, and try to do what they tell you. Your brain will relearn, but it takes time. The wife and I are praying for you. Chuck
