Sierra Ball-end Hook

Post by mickd »

The later Sierra Sessions have a 'hook' that is there to catch string ends when they break, to stop them falling into the changer. I have a Session 12 (1993) and I always assumed it was pre-hook. On closer examination, however, I notice there is a feature that could be described as a hook. Can someone tell me if this is a 'hook' ?

That looks like the hook to me.

That looks like the "hook" to me too. I've never had a string end get "loose" and my S-12 is a 1998 model.

thanks for the positive ID !
I'm starting to understand why I have been unable to find a missing string end despite looking into the changer every day for the last 2 weeks - it probably never went in there Image
