I stood over his shoulder for years playing guitar. (But not on THIS recording)

I have seen him digging and plowing new ground.

I have also seen him play in what appeared to be a lackadaisical state of mind as it sounds in BB hop.

Even when he is in this state of mind and knowing his musical characteristics as I do, it is obvious to me that nothing he just played or nothing he is about to play is pre planned or laid out in his mind prior to the musical statement. And it comes out brilliantly!!! Choice of notes, musical correctness, phrasing and intonation.

I have only seen and heard this kind of genius on any musical instrument a few times in my life.

There is good, there is great, and then there is genius.

Sid, some of the songs on those tapes are a different kinds of flowers. :0)
It's also the beginning of the tape.
Although it's E9, this sure is some inspired steel playing.

A little bird told me that you recently gave a lesson to the monster bass player and musician, Keith Horne. I sure would have loved to be a fly on that wall.

I remember the night up on Printer's Alley when Keith told everybody he was taking up the steel guitar. That was not a good day.
