Could be just about anything.
I'm an EE and statistically it goes like this in order of likely hood.

1. connections, ie solder joints, connector interfaces, socketed components, etc.
solutions: look for bad solder joints - most often visible. Push integrated circuits back down into their sockets - sometimes they drift out. Unplug connectors, burnish or clean contacts and plug back in.

2. electrolytic capacitors dry up and go bad.
solution- replace

3. component failure.
solution- will require some EE smartz and equipent to debug.

I've fixed many a modern amp, post ROHS, just by re-soldering every connection of the PCB. (lead is bad for people but generally good for solder joints)

If it has a BW speaker, it could foam dust in the air gap around the voice coil. Do a search for that here on the fourm and you will find several post about this problem and how to clean it out.
It costs $0.00 and might fix it.

Check the speaker with another speaker to see if that is your problem.
