somewhere on the web there was a web site about
jimmy day's career. there where lots of pictures on there . one such picture of jimmy day sitting behind.
a emmons p/p. do any of you jimmy day fans remembered
jimmy playing a emmons i whis i could fine that site but, i thinks its gone...

Paul, I have always wondered if Jimmy Day had owned, or played, an Emmons Steel in a band, or on a recording.
A while back on the Forum, I remember seeing a picture of Jimmy Day playing an Emmons. If my memory serves me right, it was on an Emmons add. It might have been just his name on the add as an endorsement.

Tommy,"Brand X"is in honor of David and Harry Jackson...they used to come in the Captain's Table in the Alley and sit there and heckle me and my Emmons guitar,which they referred to as"Brand X"..."play some Mooney licks!"I loved those guys-wish I had known them better!
Our visits at the Grand Ole Opry are usually the high point of my week...thanks! |
