I don't know who took this photo, or when, but a friend forwarded it to me recently and I know it will be appreciated here.

The venue is Hunter's Lodge in Fairfax, Virginia. Perhaps someone can provide a date...

Dave,
I'll guess late '80 or early '81. I became acquainted with Buddy around that time and he played on a steel show we hosted outside of Philadelphia. I well remember that fish on his guitar. It got many comments that day, of course so did his wonderful playing. Thanks for posting it.

Sincerely,

I would say you are spot on Craig.

I set up just to the right of Buddy.

I left Hunter's Lodge in 1979.

Back in those days I set my amp on the drum riser not on the floor as I do today so....that is not my amp.
Most memorable job I ever had.

My my. Seems like it was last year.

I vividly remember a thousand more similar scenes.

Be nice to everyone, make as many friends as you can, play as much music as you can and have all the fun you can today!

Tomorrow it will all be over and only a handful will remember.

Reading this thread again, I am reminded of the first of several "Steel Session" programs we produced. After Buddy agreed to play on the show, he called back and ask: "Would it be OK if I bring a good g'tarr player with me?" (that's how Buddy said it. . . g'tarr) Of course it would be OK. I wasn't about to say no to Buddy Charleton? Well, the audience loved Charleton and they loved the g'tarr player he brought. It was a young kid named Sid Hudson. If you ever get a chance to hear Sid play, go see him. You'll agree with Charleton, he really is a good g'tarr player.

Sincerely,
