Anyone converted to the "Trick Knee" set-up? If so, any problems and p/p or all pull?
Thanks,
Wayne Baker

How would this work for the Universal S12?
For E9 the knee lever:
1. lowers the 2nd string D# to D
2. raises the 7th string F# to G#
3. lowers the 9th string D to C#
For S12 the knee lever would:
1. lower the 2nd string D# to D
2. raise the 7th string F# to G#
But...
3. lowers or raises the x?th string x? to C#
I use string 8 to lower from E to D, on the same pedal as string 2, D# to D. I would like to keep this.
Any ideas? <FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Peter on 01 June 2002 at 01:09 AM.]</p></FONT>

Peter,
I am confused.
On a universal 12, the 9th string is a B. By chance are you speaking of extended E9th, where the 9th string is a D?
God bless you,

Carl, thank you for your reply.
My Universal has a B on string 9, like you said.
I used to raise it to D, but I had shaft flexing, interfering with the tuning. So I get my D from lowering E on string 8, which works very nice. This same lever drops string 2 to D.
So with this "Z" lever I would like to find out which string should go to C#.
Mind you, maybe I will put a D on string 9, move 10 and 11 one position down and loose the low B on string 12.
A lot of people with a lot of common sense did recommend this in other posts.
I also find this very confusing to work things out on "paper".
I find it helps a lot to just make the changes on the guitar and try it out.
It would be nice if someone could combine Table Edit with Guitar Map (search the Forum for it), which would enable us to set up a "what-if" situation on the computer for testing purpose.
God bless you.

Thank you Peter,
And I too have shaft "flex" causing a problem when raising both the 9th and 10th strings a tone and a half to a D and B respectively. I lower the second string to a D also with this one (LKL2) lever.
Plus, I also lower the 8th string to a D on an opposite knee lever. I could not live without both. Reason; there are times in music that you want to raise into the 7th, while other times the song calls for lowering into it.
I WILL solve that confound "flex" problem, ALONG with "cabinet drop" problems if the Lord lets me live long enough. And If I do, it will be joy on earth for me.
God bless you,

Please excuse my ignorance in the matter but what in the world is a "Trick Knee" conversion. I don't have a clue!

"Trick Knee" is a knee lever set up Bobbe Seymour is using. With it you need only two knee levers for both E9 and C6.
