Who Makes A Bar With A Rounded Edge?

I'm trying to find a 1" chrome bar with a pretty good sized radius on the edge of the flat end of the bar. I used to have a Ernie Ball 7/8" which has a nice round edge, but I wore through the plating in no time and would prefer another brand. I have a George L which has a very hard edge and I understand BJS is pretty much the same. Also what would happen if I took off the edge on my bar, would the plating be prone to wear at its exposed edge? Thanks,Jeff

Yes, if you machine off the corner, you will expose the underplating (copper/nickel) and the finish will begin to deteriorate there. A stainless bar (which isn't quite as "fast", but sounds ok...still quite usable) could be modified or machined at will. Either other alternative (stripping/replating, or custom manufacture) for a chrome bar will probably be expensive.

If I understand what you're saying, it sounds like you might want to check out a "Twister".
I have one and keep it in regular rotation.

Here is a link from Scotty's (scroll down a ways to see the picture).

Try www.bulletbars.com. From what I hear, they should be able to fix you up.
You might also try a Red Rajah perhaps at www.aguitarcenter.com
[This message was edited by Del Rangel on 24 May 2002 at 10:58 AM.]

[This message was edited by Del Rangel on 24 May 2002 at 11:00 AM.]
