The show has always been cut and paste. As good as Joe is, I'm bettin' he's busy as a one arm paper hanger. MAN, WHAT A PLAYER!

I have watched Midwest Country for a while, I enjoy it. I would never in my lifetime say they are no good or not worth watching. I have been told I was not worth watching either so I know how it makes them feel. I am surprised to see a post like this on the forum.

Nothing was directed at any individuals, only the show in general. Overall I find it uninteresting and uninspiring, Joe notwithstanding.

IT'S ALIVE!! I'm alive and well up here in the Polar Vortex of Minnesota. I didn't play many MWC shows last year because I have another gig that took up a lot of my time. They (MWC) don't have any (or hardly any) shows in the wintertime. I might be doing a few this season coming up but haven't booked anything yet.
My "main" gig right now is a MN Public Radio show called "Wits". It airs around the country as well, depending on your location and if your local Public Radio affiliate has picked it up. Check it out here:
http://www.witsradio.org/ It's a cool show. Really fun and challenging and different than the typical "steel" gig. I'm fortunate to have it and grateful to the producers for going with non-typical instrumentation for the band.
The band consists of drums, bass, pedal steel, vibraphone and a female vocalist. With that and some occasional guitar and techno assists we've covered everything from Iron Maiden to George Jones. The guests are hip and usually on the cutting edge of music and humor.
Besides that, I play locally around the Twin Cities with a variety of bands and By Gosh, somehow manage to make a living playing music. Amazing.
Thanks for wondering on my whereabouts. I appreciate that!

They just added RFD (they call it something else) to Brighthouse Cable in my area. I watched one show last week and there wasn't any steel that I heard in that show.

Every other time I've looked at that channel it was either rodeo or some other farm type show.

I always get a kick out of the Combine Demolition Derby.

Jack, my favorite shows on RFD T.V. are the antique tractor shows. I love old tractors, especially John Deere and International. Plus I own some old tractors 4020 John Deere and 1954 Ford.
Jack-I am getting burned out on Bull Riding. I guess I have seen too many Bull Riding events.

I saw Joe last Monday at Lee's Liquor Lounge downtown Mpls. They do mostly classic country with some Roy Orbison and others thrown in from the 60's /70's.
The group is called Buffaloaf spearheaded by Dan Lund, great tele picker! Joe's a great player and let's me sit in on occaision Razz Thanks Joe!!

Keith if you like old farm tractors, when I was growing up and living on a farm we had two John Deere's. An "A Model" and a "B Model".

Jack We too had a A model John Deere and a M Farmall. I could plow all day and spit across what I had plowed. Not that way now though with the high tech tractors and equipment they have now.

Thanks for posting, now I know someone I have something in common with.

I like Dan Lund, the Tele player too. I enjoy the acts they have on even if they're a little sub par. It reminds me of our own Okla. Opry show here in Okla. It's just folks wanting to have fun, and enjoy makin' music. But I do miss Joe when he ain't on there.

Dan Lund is awesome. Remember back in the day, when he and Russ Pahl teamed up with Becky, Curt, Kirby, and Peter in the Sky Blue Water Boys. If a reunion were possible, and they could do a show in Sandstone for broadcast on RFD, lotsa folks would change their opinions about "Midwest Country." Guaranteed!

Jack, if you'd like to hear Becky Thompson sing again, come to the Lee's Liquor Lounge this Tuesday.
We, Becky Thompson and Old School, play the last Tuesday of every month.
