I don't understand? Are you talking about tuning them or rodding them? How are they "out of whack"?

Right-on, b0b. "PEOPLE"!!!!~.....you've got to be very precise in what you are talking about
when it comes to the pedal steel.

I know this, because, when I'm asking
COMPUTER guru, Everett Cox, about "this and that".......he ALWAYS corrects me and says 'type-it-write', and, 'ask-it-right'.

Yes...this sounds simple enuff, but, believe it or not, it is a problem...with the WRITTEN
WORD.

When you are talking to someone, one to one,
live, well, that's a whole different ballgame.
When you write something to print, you have to be VERY careful. Choose your words carefully, and watch out for "StrayingTopicSyndrome".

Keep focused - and I know!

Definitions/phrases/old meanings/---everything is in a flux----sorry------but
YOU do have to keep up. Keep up, or be KEPT out. It's tough.

Jim I wish I knew some things about a Dekley guitar so I could help you with your problem. I am sure that there many guys out there that have experience with these instruments and can give you some good advice. Just ignore people who criticize you when you ask for help.

Jimmy Lewis, I do know a little bit about Dekleys. Image Image Image I was Dekley's first employee, plant/production manager, and helped design the newer Dekley models. I've only played my D-12 for 22 years (so far), but I did the final assembly and setup and played almost every guitar before it left the shop. Image

Jim Smith I AM SO GLAD for you that you are an expert. I was only making a comment and trying to be nice to someone. You will never have to worry about ME TRYING to help anyone else on this forum again. As far as Dekley guitars go every one of them I have ever seen or heard was a piece of JUNK.

Were YOU playing them when they sounded like junk?

Jim Smith I was not criticizing you when you offered help. In a subtle way I was trying to get a message across to the person who was getting off topic here. I had no problem with the help you were trying to offer at all.

Jim Eaton unless you have heard someone play I would suggest that you not make a comment like that again. That was very rude and uncalled for.

Jimmy Lewis, I did not make a comment. I ask a question. My question was trying to find out if you had played a Dekley yourself or if you were basing your opinion of their sound/quality after having listened to someone else playing a Dekley guitar.

Jim Eaton you did make a comment. Anytime you say something or type something it is a comment wheather it be a statment or a question it is a comment. I have played a Dekley and I do not like the way they are made, they way they play, or the way they sound. That is strictly MY opinion. I am entitled to my opinion. I don't mind if someone disagrees with me I just don't care for comments like you made which would imply my ability as a musician. You have never heard me play and it sounded like to me you were passing judgment on me without just cause.

No slam intended. Just looking for info on how you formed your opinion. Peace.
