Help with Year of a Emmons

Bill,
I dont know the year. But I believe that guitar is one of the original LeGrandes. If so, it has several identifying features.
1. Short keyhead as you mentioned.
2. The changer fingers were suported between each finger with an aluminum extrusion. Something I wish ALL PSG's had.
3. It had 4 hole bellcranks.
These PSG's were replaced within a very short time, by the Lashley LeGrande which still had 4 hole bellcranks (a sligtly different design), BUT, did not have the short keyhead nor changer supports mentioned above.
