I am looking for any info, websites, suggestions, contacts, etc. on purchasing great flight cases for doubleneck steels. Need all the necessary ingredients-light as possible, yet strong enough to prevent damage from the manhandlers at the airlines, tight fit, casters, etc. any info would be appreciated.

Hey Mike! WELCOME aboard. I'll start off by suggesting to click "links" at the top of this page & go to "Steel Guitar Manufacturers & Related Products" & you'll find some fine case builders there. Once the fellers & fellerettes check your topic, suggestions & advice will come forth. Ok Glenn Suchan, where are you?

Howdy Mike!
Welcome to the "Forum"
About flight case info. I had a case built by Keal Cases, Inc. Go to this thread to see my rant on the subject.

Thanks for all the suggetions. I'll check out as many as I can. I had forgotten about Keal here in Austin. I've had Paul there, make me several great amp cases, but was looking for some that are especially made for steels, for air travel.

I have six flight cases. All built by Hafer case in Rosenberg, Tx. These are the real deal and built to your specs. Contact them at
www.hafercase.com and ask for John. Our band probably has forty custom cases all by these folks. After thousands of miles and countless jobs, they still deliver.

Mike, have you tried Woody Waddell yet? He's built several great cases for me, and I know he will make a true "flight case."
