I have a 1950 DeArmond FHC "monkey on a stick" pickup that I had installed on a Gold Tone Beard round neck reso. Because there was not enough room to mount the pickup on the stick, we just glued it to the body right under the neck.

It's the loudest, thickest thing I ever heard in my life. We just wired in a volume pot, but I need more control, especially given the very dark, thick voice of the instrument.

I was thinking of a concentric 250k pot with one being a bass roll off and the other controlling highs, with the ability to add highs. How can I go about this? Other ideas? Would love to keep the character of this pickup but be able to pull some of the overwhelming lows/low mids and add highs when neccessary.

Thanks!
