A wonderful friend and an excellent steel guitarist from southern Indiana, Wimpy O'Steen, passed away on December 29th at his home near Bedford, IN. Wimpy was very active with the Louisville Metro Steel Guitar Club. He was also a master of steel guitar restoration. Wimpy's son, Arnold, is also a talented musician, who plays bass guitar each Saturday evening as part of the house band at the Ross Country Jamboree in Scottsburg, IN.

I'm sorry to hear we lost Wimpy. I had the pleasure of listening to him as well as playing with him a few times. He was a fine fellow.

Sincere condolences to the family.
