Last year I wrote an article on my blog about a system of 7th chords on the C6th. Just today I discovered another system of 7th cords that dovetails into the gaps of the first system. So I wrote about it, too.

Here's the original article:
b0bletter.blogspot.com/2010/09/plain-7th-chords-on-c6th-pedal-steel

And here's the new one:
b0bletter.blogspot.com/2011/08/more-7th-chords-on-c6th

This is pretty useful stuff if you're playing a lot of blues. Mr. Green

When you're just comping chords with a blues band, having the I7, IV7 and V7 all within a fret of each other is really sublime. Also, the lead licks that you can pull out of these adjacent positions at random sound really advanced and jazzy.

I'm having a lot of fun with this discovery. Very Happy

Good articles. Putting a couple of dozen such things together could make a pretty good C6 instruction book for intermediate players.

What about those of us who play C7? Got any tricks to show us where the 6th chords are? Shocked

I updated this for E9/B6 S12U (but I have not test-fired these pedal/lever combos yet).
G#>A is your B pedal.
B>C is a fairly common S12U change (I have it on strings 5,10,12).

b0b,
What about 13th chords? I use those on 6 string all the time, but have no clue about getting them on the C6th neck, which I seldom use, but would like to utilize more.

Being on the "C" neck but with the zero fret in "A" hurts my head, so I'll just add - if you have the lever that drops your 5th string a whole step (G->F for us normal folks) try playing P5 and P6, drop your fifth string. It's a 7th chord, if you're in C at the 12th fret this gives you a G7 chord at the 11th fret and a F7 at the 9th fret. And, the cool thing is, your 4th and 8th string half-step lower (A->G#) toggles it down to a 6th chord. Combined with the big fat 7th chord from just P6 and the G->F lower, you really don't need to move much. And a forward slant on just the un-altered tuning gives you a 7th chord, and when you drop t... well, try a slant, that's all. Alien

I have an S10 C6 guitar. So you need to adjust this accordingly. At fret 4, you get a C13 chord by pushing pedals 2 and 3 on the C6 side. I think that is pedals 5 and 6 on most double neck guitars. I know of a second 13 chord. You get it by pushing pedals 2 and four on the C6 side. I think that would be 5 and 7 on most double neck guitars. I find that one alot less useful.

D13 is P5 with the C>B lever.

If you tune your 1st string to D, it's the 13th note on top of the F9 that you get with P6.

I'm trying to post my "Fun with G>F lever" stuff - is there a tab translator that gets the spacing right? When I copy your tab into open office or notepad the spacing gets crazed. And vice-versa.
