Of course, but you might need to borrow some outside notes to keep the harmonies pleasant.

When I think of pentatonic scales I think of the Allman Brothers band.
I've worked out Jessica and Blue Sky, both guitar parts simultaneously on the PSG. |

A pentatonic scale has 5 notes so it is hard to harmonize.
One way to think of it is if you are playing an Am and Dm progression.
Look at it like you are playing the 6 and 2 chords in C Maj.
In something like Johnny B Goode it won't sound right and you would have to change a 3rd harmony to a 4th or 5th harmony.

| One can do a nice harmonizing pentatonic scale rocking off and on pedals 2 and 3 together, using different string pairs within the range of strings 5 to 3. |
