I started a post on Wayne several years ago and the responses were great. Wayne played great stuff, even though it was hard to catch him as I was playing the Caravan or the Post. So I would look for Wayne if he was in town and catch him if possible. No pics or video here.

The thing I remember most about Wayne, besides his great playing, was when he walked up to me while playing, took my picks off my hand, took my bar, walked off and I never saw them again.
I talked with him a few months later and he said they were the best picks and bar he ever had.

Wow. Thanks so much for the picture and information Don. I really appreciate it. This is an era that I didn't know about.Lots of history there. I sure didn't know about you guys playing in Vietnam. I'm not surprised though. That must have been really something to see.
My brother was in Vietnam about that same time ironically. He played with Kenny and Wayne for many, many yrs.
I remember while we would be playing, often times, "circuit" musicians who were in town, would pick a table at the Caravan East right in front of Wayne, and sit there to watch in amazement.( same at the Hitching Post) He was just amazing to watch, let alone play with. Playing in Swamproot was an amazing experience for me at 17 years old. It was a highlight to be sure.
Please send more pics if you've got em. I'd love to hear more stories.
Thanks again and have Merry Christmas

Charles Eaton are you related to Nestor? We played at the Caravan when Wayne and Nestor were opposite us. They had an early shift and a late shift back in '76 or '77.

He's Nestor's little brother, a superb drummer himself.
