I'm one of the many who recently jumped on the bandwagon and started using the Lil' Izzy for live performance. It does everything people are saying.
Sounds great! When you get used to it and then remove it again, you wonder how you ever liked the tone without it, before!
Well, I was just setting up mics and doing a sound check for tomorrows recording session.
I setup a close mic for my steel and auditioned my sound through the headphones.
It sounded kind of shrill, so I unplugged it and went straight into the amp. (Volume pedal 1st, of course)
It sounded warmer (I had to raise the treble & mids a bit)
With close micing it didn't seem necessary.

What are your recording with Lil' Izzy experiences like?

I sometimes change were the Izzy sits in the chain but I always use it recording through a amp or direct. I've also found it to be excellent when recording bass, and some acoustic guitar pickups.
