Chet Atkins and Les Paul on Today Show 7/5/78. In part one Les demo's his own design looper or I think it's his. Great playing on both parts.

True musical humor; a lost art. Hey - is Chet's foot tapping quarter notes while Les' foot is tapping eight notes? Can you imagine anyone hijacking a network morning show today the way Les does here? Having worked in live TV, I know they were having conniptions in the control room!

Well, there you go.
Not only did Mr. Les Paul invent the multi-track recorder, the solid body electric guitar and so many other FX that are commonly used today, but it also looks like he invented the looper as he demonstrates about 5 minutes into the first video.

He was truly a genius.
