Hi Chris
Those pickups are Stimer pickups, the type Django Reinhardt used. you can get reissues nowadays.

This is the result of a lot of work and a very encouraging environment. I don't know if he is a "manouche", but there have been quite a few prodigious players to come from these families (Bireli Lagrene, Jimmy Rosenberg, Boulou Ferre, etc.).
