Hi!
I've just been verified. I've been playing for 26 years and I only found this site 2 months ago. I have really enjoyed all the discussion and was chomping at the bit to join in.
Have ya'll ever heard of a Blanton guitar?

Hey Bob,
Yeah I remember the Blanton Guitars. I bought one from Blackie Taylor Music in California around 1972 or so. It was a single 10 with 4 floor pedals and no knee levers. There was no tuning on the endplate of the thing as it had no holes or anything on it. All the pedal tuning was done underneath on the bell cranks with things you turned with your hand if I remember right. Blackie added two knee levers to it, one to lower the 2nd and one to lower the E strings. About a year after I got it we converted it to an eleven string by adding a low E string. I eventually traded it straight across for a 1958 Volkswagen Beetle.

Thanks for replying, both Jerrys.
Yes, the Blanton tunes underneath and you sure get used it after awhile. My first guitar was an MSA sidekick, which you had to tune with your allen wrench every 3 songs. It was a good starter guitar with 3 and 1. The Blanton is 8 and 4 and really is a great guitar. Mine is a 77 model and I would never sell it,though I am trying to save for a LGIII. Don't tell my wife!
