I don't know if it matters between different models. I have one of the original Matchbro models with the tone control in bybass.

I must have it close (with my Franklin) as I've fooled Bluegrass pickers and others that come up to the stage looking for the Dobro.

Timbre: 11 O'clock. Tone: 1 O'clock.

Remember to "think Dobro" when you use it. If you just use it like another effect it will sound like crap (what Mr Franklin (Sr) told me).

Where is the start point on the controls? My timbre is all way left at 6 o'clock. Tone all way left at 12 o'clock????

When the controls are turned fully counter-clockwise, both the timbre and the tone control pointers are at about the 7 o'clock position.

Both knobs point to the same relative position when turned all the way to the left.

Which model do you have, Jamie? Like I originally posted there were several different models. Knowing Goodrich, there can be internal differences and even different knobs.

Hello Jamie, Many years ago I had just just before the convention, bought a Match-bro. Buddy was there at his booth and I thought to my self, Man I just want to talk to him. So what I thought I would ask an him how to adjust the knobs on my Match-bro. He said, Well didn't you get an instruction sheet with your Match-bro? He was being very sincere and I said yes and I just melted away. Here is a post I made on ask Buddy in 2002 on how to set the Match-bro. By the way got to see you at the Jim Vest tribute. What a great night.
