I didn't know about these until I saw one for sale on the Forum. If anyone has experience with it or an educated opinion about them, I would love to hear about it. Or any other comparable powered speaker. The PX 300 has a 9-band EQ, that seems like a plus...

Alex, the PX-300 is simply a powered speaker cab. That's it. No Eq at all.

BUT, it's a killer cab. It was made as an extension cab for a Session 2000 amp (both have 300 watts), or you could use the PX with a rack system, or combo amp, with a preamp output.

I have the 2000 and the PX and I could use them to do demolition work. It could peel paint, or blow down brick walls.

seriously though, I think that combination sounds terrific even at low bedroom levels. I love 'em.

Hope this helped.

I used to have one and used it with my Nashville 400. Mostly placed it on the other side of the stage for the players on that side to hear me better and to give better coverage in the audience. The volume control on it was real handy for the other players to control the volume on their side of the stage. I have also used it stacked under my 400. Nice sound with the 2 15" speakers and lower amp volumes.

the PX300 is a Nashville 1000 without the preamp
yes, it kicks - good addition for those who use a rack

I bet it's heavy though... Maybe if I put my Eminence EPS-15 in there...

Alex if you put a PV Neo magnet on the speaker it lightens the load considerably ... I did this with my NV1000 and it is much more manageable - not that the original was that heavy.

Mike, thanks for going to the trouble of actually weighing it. Very helpful! And Bob, thank you for the offer. Just seems too heavy for me right now, especially knowing I can get a stereo rackmount Carvin amp that weighs in at 4 pounds and has all the power I'll ever need...
