Jody Cameron was our featured player, he brought with him Harlan Kubos on Bass, His wife Darla who sang and played Flute, and their cute daughter Julia, who sang a duet with Jody. Jody was a monster as usual on the steel and not a bad job singing with his daughter.

As Jody Burl would say, "A good time was had by all".

Every Picture I see lately of Jody he's playing a different Steel. This looks like a great PP Emmons.
I'm sure no matter what he plays on he's gonna make it sound like a million bucks.

Bubba, I've only got two steels. This 69 Emmons and a '95 Carter. I use and like them both about equally. My Carter used to have a red front apron, but now it's black...same guitar though. I don't care for red steels...that's just me. :D :D Jody

I really enjoyed the meeting/jam. It's great to be able to sit in with such talented musicians and nice people.

I just got the new Mullen G2. Traded in my black one for the zanzebaar ebony mica. I got the idea from one of the last Carter guitars made, which used this finish. I loved it on the Carter and I sure do on the Mullen.

I'd like to thank Jody Cameron for taking time to join us and to bring his nice and talented family. Darla is a great vocalist and I really enjoyed the flute solos. Billy Phelps added a vibe solo on his synthesizer. Sounded like Lionel Hampton!

Bobby, Not being a professional player, I can tell you that I do appreaciate your steady course on timing. Non pros, like me, jump timing, drag, etc, but you are great at "corrections". Thanks.

Boy, did I miss a good one!! I have been in a band for several years, and I have never really cared for Sunday afternoon gigs. I have missed the last two Katy meetings because of this! I sure wanted to hear Jody and ask him a question or two. Hopefully next time? Thanks as always for the pictures Lee.
