Posted: 17 Nov 2006 1:26 pm
by Bob Belcher
OK, THIS IS NOT ONE I WANT TO POST, HOWEVER, DUE TO SCHEDULING SNAFU BY THE ROUNDUP CLUB WE HAVE TO CHANGE OUR MEETING DATE TO THE 9TH OF DECEMBER! IT WAS ORIGINALLY ON THE 16TH, SO IT'S KICKED UP A WEEK. I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY AND ALL INCONVEINENCE THIS CAUSES AND SCHEDULING PROBLEMS. MEETING AGENDA AND TIMES WILL REMAIN THE SAME.. Also, we will be electing officers for the next year at this meeting, so if you don't want to be one make sure you show up to decline...
. just kidding, as far as you know anyway. Please confirm your reservation to
tenstrings@wmconnect.com (Bob) or to James at
Saltydog@netcommander.com Thanks

Naaaaaaa,
You know I always ask about grub! What's on the menu? Brisket, links, burgers?
And, now that you mention it, if there is a spare table I do still have a few steel related items for sale.
Might even put a few of our CDs out for sale...including our newest CHRISTMAS CD!

Those who care to be there at 10:00A.M. at the seminar, our project song for the day will be Hank Thompson's "Wild Side of Life"(Honky Tonk Angels)in the key of "C". (Loren had a real fine suggestion to work up a tune, thanx Loren!!) Figure out what you can if you don't know the tune, if you do know the tune, polish up your chops, and we will have fun. I particularly like the Waylon Jennings/Ralph Mooney version, if you can sort through your albums. Also, if "Wild Side" comes too easy for you, start working up(key of "C") "Three Days" written by Willie Nelson. It can be found in Faron Young's songs he recorded. Jake Hooker also covers this tune on one of his live recordings. This song is a blast to work up. See what you can get on it. Also, start thinking "Nashville number system". We will begin learning it, if your not familiar with it yet. Cheers!
