I've been driving around France for the past week and a half and have heard a couple of nice pedal steel-backed songs on what has been a tough listen otherwise. [I am sure that there is some good music on French FM radio (does XM live in France?), but I haven't had that pleasure.] The two songs I heard with a steel behind them were pretty good (both instrumentals), and the (E9) steel fit perfectly. Was that someone from this board? If so, bravo.

Does anybody have tab for this? Or even better, is the course he made "Keep a good grip on the bar" available (in English)?

How do they say it - the steel du pedal, or is it steel de pedal?
I'm thinking it's masculine but I've been wrong before.

Jean Yves Lozach plays a Wiesner psg on that vid
He also plays ona Schild as well
This Swiss made psg was initially built by Mr Schild
Mr Wiesner ( Swiss as well ) copied the Schild & was rather successful in France & other European countries, until he passed away
the brand no longer exists - Schild is still making his
http://www.schildsteel.com
pricy but probably , along w: Anapeg from Australia, the best psgs around
they do not use a wood cabinet but a alloy frame ( like MCI ? )

Jean Yves Lozach initially started out playing Banjo ( still does ) in the late 60s - he met Bill Keith in the early 70s & got the psg bug - JYL has been France's top session man & is usually heard on most tunes here
He Played at the ISGC in the 70s along w: Koos Biel & Niels Tuxen i believe as the " United Steels of Europe "
along w: European musicians JYL has been backing up Charlie Mc Coy for many years when he comes to Europe

The tabs to the tune " keep a good grip on the bar " were included in Lozach's VHS course by the same name
out of print since 25 years
the course was in French
i have an original edition

in French we say PSG - not to be confused the Paris soccer team Paris Saint Germain
commonly known as a Pédale Steel en Français
