I am putting an arrangement together of Autumn Leaves on C6. I don't have the music with chords for this number, so am working them out by ear.

In the key of Dm, I have worked these out and they sound fairly OK. Could someone cast an eye over them for me and see if I have anything obviously wrong in there please. Sorry I haven't barred the chords out but don't know how to do it on here.

Many thanks Very Happy

1st part
Gm7, C7, Fmaj7, Bbmaj7, Em7b5, A7b9, Dm7.

2nd part
Em7b5, A7b9, Dm7, Gm7, C7, Fmaj7, Bbmaj7, Em7b5, A7b9, Dm7, G9, Bb9, A7b9, Dm7.

Hey Ken - A couple of thoughts; I would do it in E minor as that's the key that everyone knows it in. For guitar players it allows for a lot of open string voicings. The changes are fine as far as having the song work properly. At the Dm7 chord (2nd part, 10th chord), I'd play Dm7, Db7, Cm7, B7 ( 2 beats for each change) and take out the G9 that follows. I'd also replace the Bb9 that follows the G9 with an Em7b5. This is more in line with the real book chart that many players are familiar with. I'd enjoy hearing it when you are done. I do it on E9 but haven't worked up the courage to try it on C6.

In this key

2nd half:

Emi7b5 / A7b9 / Dmi7 / Dmi7 /

Gmi7 / C7 / Fmaj7 / Bbmaj7 /

Emi7b5 / A7b9 / Dmi7 G7/ Cmi7 F7/

Bbmaj7 / Emi7b5 A7b9 / Dmi7 or Dmi6 //

These are very standard changes

Bars 11 and 12 are often Dmi7 Db7/ Cmi7 B7/ - same idea with tritons subs for the dominant chords

It is true that the 2 most standard keys are E minor and G minor, but it's an easy tune, so whatever key you want to play in should be fine
