Russ is a terrific steeler, and a nice guy. I met him here in Jax, when he was playing in "Just A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline".
I've heard Russ play some amazing things on the ISGC stage in STL.

Yes Garry- I'll be in the shop both days. We have a great time yesterday with forumites Rick Schmidt, David Wright, Gerry Walker (of Stereo Steel fame) and local singer Tom Boren all stopping by and treating the locals to an impromptu jam session- life is tough .[This message was edited by Jim Palenscar on 19 November 2006 at 08:51 AM.] |

I highly recommend "Lost Highway". Saw it when the tour came through Kansas City this spring. Plus Russ is a gentleman's gentleman. The true persona and embodyment of what a steel player should be, plus a heck-of-of a good guy.
Russ likes to take the time before or after the show to meet guys like us. Heck Russ even carries his laptop everywhere and was logged into the Forum backstage. |

I read the write up in the local paper this morning. Unfortunately, they failed to mention Russ in the article. They did include the rest of the musicians. The writer was a guest writer from Texas. You would think he would know how important the steel guitar was to Hank's sound and this show....rj |

Russ, that is great news that you will be performing here in Jax again. Will try to get out and say "howdy" during the show's run.
