Wow!!
I thought they only had Oompa bands.
My Great Uncle and I had too many beers there one night back in '89. I'm glad to see it's still a club. Huge dance floor with booths and tables. Very cool place. Just too busy to make the show.
Have fun Billy,

Patrick, the Oompa bands still play there too. David Phillips plays steel there with Polka Casserole!

Thanks for the heads up.
I met David at the previous SJ jam. He's an awesome player. Had a U-12 if I recall. Probably laughed at my S-8w/6 Fender.

Normally I never miss this outfit at Little Switzerland, but there are no entertainment dollars left for awhile. Saw Alison Krauss and Union Station last Sunday, and the Dixie Chicks last night.

Pete Finney sounded good on his Sierra, but they need to work on his sound for the dobro-too tinny. If they had seen Jerry Douglas with AKUS last week, they'd have gotten the picture.

If you haven't seen Bobby with Lost weekend, you're in for a treat. Let me known if he plays the MSA SuperSlide or his Carter.

Hi Dudes,

Like I always say,
"It is always good to be in touch with your inner Oom-pa."

Patrick, thanks for your kind words and DZ had it right, we missed you and Todd at the jam.
When I saw your Fender 400 it made me wish my Fender 800 was that pretty.
I didn't laugh, just giggled like a school girl.
Your Bro Rob was awesome at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival.
David Z, I really want to see your refinished Fenders.

DP

DZ That's right, a 14 stringer. I think you have one of those also. I see you're playing with Johnny Dilks. What a cool gig! I just bought a '43 Kay Bass from his old Bass player Steve. It's a boomer!
DP I was bummed to have missed the Jam. Thanks for being nice to the 400. It's the only pedal guitar I have. I love that guitar! Todd's wife is having a baby any day, and then they're moving to Oregon. I haven't seen Rob with Earl Scruggs yet. That Hardly deal is way too big for my likes. Rob recorded with Merle Haggard in Nashville 2 weeks ago. He's been on cloud nine since then.

Pat-the Hardly Strictly atmosphere is classic Golden Gate park mellow-you would do just fine.

Plus, being Rob's bro-you can probably horn in on a backstage pass and sit in the roped off areas near the stages reserved for musicians and their families, instead of sitting out in the crowd with us "Unwashed masses."

It's so great to know that Bobby's still out playing and turning heads (and ears).

Hey, did anyone mention that Pat Ickes plays some pretty tasty Dobro, too? And who was it that inspired Rob, anyway? Hee hee.

Oops. I've already said too much... Congrats on the bass, Pat! Sounds like a thumper.

ZBest,
Larry
